How to make/facilitate workshop

iCal
Saturday 25/04
10:30 - 15:00
Teilingerstraat 120

Have you ever wanted to run a workshop or event? Do you have an idea of a skill you want to share or help guide reflection?

The workshop! Here we will explore the basics of setting-up and facilitating a workshop. If you have never facilitated or you just want to pick up some new tips to help smooth your workshops out, you are welcome! Zephyr (they/he) will be running the workshop based off the material from the book, 'How to design & teach workshops that work every time' by Rob Fitzpatrick and Devin Hunt. The workshop will introduce the idea of workshop skeleton, followed by a game to explore how the different elements can work together. Then there will be a small lecture with some facilitation tips. Here you may chose to continue to finish the workshop or leave by the designated time of 12.30. Otherwise, you are welcome to join for the lunch, which will be provided. Finally, there will be the space to work on your own skeleton for a workshop during the afternoon until 15.00.

Want to actually facilitate your workshop? Additionally, the volunteers at Queer Rotterdam have set aside time slots to help co-hosting the workshop you have made to be able to get some experience or just share the knowledge! The availability for the workshops will be in May and will fill up on a first come basis at the end of the workshop.

Zephyr (they/he) is an eager in-learning teacher. They have been facilitating sex education workshops at Queer Rotterdam since 2024. If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact the facilitator Zephyr (they/he) at zephyr.nyx@mailbox.org. Looking forward to seeing you there!
